I would like to know how exactly British Gas/Centrica have made £969 million pounds in profit, a near 900% rise on their 2022 profits of £98 million.

This surge in profit is largely down to the manipulation of Ofgem’s energy price cap that allowed suppliers to recoup some of the costs of supplying customers during the energy crisis.
